It feels like forever since I’ve last written one of these.
Here we are, another year, another Thanksgiving. Although this year looks a lot different. We are just celebrating as a household due to COVID and giving food to my pop-pop and neighbor.
Even though this year was probably one of the worst I’ve ever experienced, I am still so thankful for many things.
First and foremost my family and friends. Sure, sometimes my family is a pain in the butt and we might not agree but when push comes to shove, they are always there. Also, for my cat, the love of my life.
My friends- Man I don’t know what I’d do without them. Although I haven’t been able to see many of them this year, I talk to them very often. I hope they know how much they mean to me.
I thank God everyday that me and the people in my life are healthy.
Next, despite being miserable with it, I am thankful to still have a job. Many people this year lost theirs or may lose it and couldn’t afford their bills. I am lucky enough to still be working, even though my attitude says differently.
I am thankful for the quarantine in which I took that time to reflect and grow as a person. During that time, besides being bored and scrolling through tiktok, I really learned about important issues and how I can be an ally.
The one thing that saved this year was the music. So many great songs and albums were released and they got me through this unpredictable, complicated year.
Thankfully, I have a roof over my head, food to eat, clothes to wear, and more than I could ever need. For all of the blessings in my life, I am truly grateful.
Make sure you tell your loved ones today that you love them. Tomorrow is never promised.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Be grateful to whoever cooked you your meal and enjoy. Be kind. Love one another.
